ROLE: Social VR Designer and VR Experience Guide

A storytelling experience that brought the works of James Baldwin, Sonia Sanchez and Janelle Monae to VR. A series of exclusive virtual reality events, which transported fans into a world inspired by the hit HBO show, Lovecraft Country. SanctumVR was custom built inside of VRChat, a social VR platform, and allowed guests to inhabit avatars, and see and interact with other guests in real time within the immersive environment, as well as complete puzzles and interactive experiences inspired by the TV show. Guests explored the world, shepherded by a live VR Guide, and experienced three live events throughout the season with guest voiceover performances by Jurnee Smollett, Jonathan Majors, Courtney B. Vance, and Michael Kenneth Williams. Users who weren’t able to participate within the social VR space could watch the livestream on YouTube and also interact in real-time, solving riddles to trigger spells that directly impacted the experience.
